Must Have Inner Wear Pieces

February 7, 2018 Article

As you guys know, I love to experiment with my outfits which of course includes all sorts of necklines. For totally understandable reasons, every time I share a picture with an interesting neckline on instagram, I have a lot of you ladies DMng me asking what innerwear did I wear under that outfit. So here’s what, I am going to share the must have inner pieces to go with all your necklines possible. I am obviously not including any fancy or sexy lingerie in this post, just basic necessity pieces.

My cup size is D and band size 32, so I totally get the pain of making sure there’s good support. All the bras I buy, are wired as I feel more confident about the support with a wired one, you can of course opt for non-wired. Similarly, I don’t buy anything padded or push up, well I don’t feel the need to, but only buy lightly lined ones.

I am also embedding reference picture/s for you under each category as example.

Everyday Bra:

This is what you need under your everyday outfits, a good seamless, smooth (a T shirt bra) and soft everyday bra. Something you can easily wear under even fitted tops and dresses. These are the ones I have (in black & nude) and I have two sets of these. Also, I prefer nude over white bras in general because they look better and don’t stand out as much as a white bra under lighter colors or fabrics. Both of these are from Calvin Klein.

Everyday Bra with removable straps:

Everyday bra but also has removable straps, that can be worn under anything off shoulder or with thin straps by just removing the straps. These are the ones I have, in all three colors, and two sets. These provide good support to me not just with straps but also without. All are from Hunkemoller. Please see Hunkemoller has European sizes, so I am cup E in it. Always best to try before you buy your inner wear. The sales people always help you get the perfect fit!

 Adhesive Bra:

This one’s perfect for anything backless and/or sheer like this lace bodysuit I wore recently. The adhesive bras are perfect to replace regular bra when you want something discreet. But of course, you’ll have to invest in a good quality one to ensure it provides good support and the adhesive works well. Mine is from Shimera at Nordstrom.

Bralette:

I love to wear bralette at times purely because they are cute and more comfortable. Bralettes are basically soft bras with lacy, feminine details perfect to wear under loose tops, or something stylish and even as a crop top! Mine are all from Victoria’s Secret.

Nipple Pasties:

Let me put it this way, when in doubt, nipple pastie it!! All those cute crop tops or deep necklines or anything ‘adventerous’, I am most probably wearing a nipple pastie under. As the name suggests, these are just to cover your nipples and if you haven’t tried them before, don’t worry, you get a hang of it after a couple of times. I got mine from Ulta & Nordstrom (I have couple of these). Here’s how it looks like and some outfit examples!

Few things to keep in mind:

  • Always try before you buy!
  • Invest in quality, what supports you better always goes a long way.
  • Read the wash and care instructions carefully and abide by them to make sure your lingerie lasts longer.
  • As for UGs, cotton ones for everyday and for days you wear anything fitted on your bum, either seamless panties or a thong, whichever you’re most comfortable with.

Lingerie/ Inner Wear brands I use and recommend (even for sexy or fancy ones):

Calvin Klein, Hunkemoller, Victoria’s Secret, Marks & Spencer and Jockey. For adhesive bras and nipple pasties you can even try looking up on amazon.

I guess that answers most queries, if not, please do drop a comment here below and I’ll get back to you.

Much Love,

P
