Romancing The City Of Lakes

August 11, 2016 Article

As you guys know that I have been practically living off airports for last two months for work or some commitment, I am hoping to stay put at home now for couple of weeks, but not before taking a romantic holiday with Shitiz.

Since I had been away from him for a while (almost three weeks) I decided to surprise him with a romantic getaway to Udaipur. I have always been fascinated by the city so finally it happened!

We were in Udaipur for four days and the first day we decided to just rest a bit enjoying the lake Pichola view from our room and maybe explore the property itself. But then our hotel’s team (we stayed at The Leela Palace) suggested a ‘Heritage Tour’ and the ‘Boat Ride’ on the Lake Pichola itself. So there it was our Day 1 sorted!

The Heritage Tour was a guided tour of the property with the history behind every thing, from the paintings to artefacts in the property itself. I will share pictures of the hotel and room in one of the upcoming posts maybe, but right now I would rather just talk about one of the highlight of our holiday, the boat ride!

It was a lovely evening spent watching the sunset over a romantic boat ride with Shitiz. Since a picture is worth thousand words, let me share a few for the sake of brevity!

We spotted the City Palace, Taj Lake Palace, Jag Mandir and other few places like this one just above where Ram-Leela was shot!

I wore this beautiful beige Chinese floral silk crepe & brasso short dress from Hemant & Nandita AW’16 collection ‘Wilderness’, a collection inspired by the inextinguishable flame to explore the untouched and unexplored cultures, a walk through the wilderness depicting in their unique and exquisite prints. I love the black lace detailing at the neckline and hemline both, not to forget the tassels with cowrie seashells! The dress was perfect for this romantic boat ride followed by walk by the lake.

Shop the outfit at Anthropologie!

(Outfit Details: Dress by Hemant & Nandita, Zara flats, Prada Baroque sunglasses, H&M earrings & Ferragamo crossbody)

Much Love,
