The Moto X Style Experience

It’s not really a well known fact as to how much I love gadgets. I have like a camera, 3 laptops, 2 phones, 2 tabs, ipod, plus office devices, just for myself, while Shitiz has his own army of gadgets. So you know, I am not really kidding when I say that I love gadgets!

Plus as a blogger, where my social media platforms and websites are my work, I can’t imagine my life without all the devices that I have! So when Motorola approached me to get a hands on their latest smartphone, Moto X Style, I was all game for it!

5.7-inch QHD screen Hexa-core – 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB RAM – 16/32GB storage (expandable up to 128GB) – 21-megapixel rear camera; 5-megapixel front camera – GSM/3G/4G, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 – Li-Ion 3,000 mAh battery – Fast charging Stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

The rear has a pleasant grip to it and feels nice to hold. It has a metal frame and soft rubber touch with slightly curved edges. Overall it looks very slick despite of its 11.1mm thickness and 179g weight. I have an iPhone 6 so it did feel little bigger and heavier than that, but it’s definitely smaller and lighter than iphone 6+ Also, Moto X Style offers IP52 certification, making it resistant against water, I haven’t personally tested that yet but did manage to spill some beer on it during the fashion week and nothing went wrong. Did I mention it comes with a bumper case?!

Moto X Style definitely has a stunning screen. The 5.7in, IPS LCD display offers a 1440×2560 QHD resolution makes sure the colours on screen look vibrant and cheery.

General performance on the Moto X Style is pretty much smooth and lag-free. I am sure android lovers will love it for what it has to offer. You get vanilla Android 5.1.1 out-of-the-box with a guaranteed update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The interface is smooth too even while multi-tasking, though it kind of gets warm after continuous usage for a while. Audio quality is good too though the headphones could have been little better. Further, call quality is good with 4G & LTE support in both SIM slots, yepp it’s a dual SIM phone!

Moto X Style comes with few tweaks to the OS, such as the Moto app, the notification icons thanks to Moto Display, hands-free voice control and more. You also get pre-loaded Google apps which will make using those apps smoother. Moto Action, Moto Assist (to perform preset tasks) & Moto Voice (Google voice search feature something like Siri) are other fun features!

Battery life & Storage:

The battery life is pretty decent and with the Turbo-charging feature, you can charge the battery sufficient enough for 8 hours, in just 15 minutes! The phone I got, had a memory of 32 GB. Moto X Style comes in two variants, 16 GB & 32 GB and can be expanded to 128 GB.

The Moto X Style has a 21MP rear-facing camera, which comes with phase detection autofocus, dual-tone flash and 4K video capture support. I like the picture quality and must admit, is better than my iphone 6 in couple of aspects, such as better pictures in low light or in flash. There’s a 5MP for front camera to help you click good enough selfies! Video quality is good too, however I think for 4K videos more memory will get you better results. Here are few pictures that I clicked during the Amazon India Fashion Week SS’16, including my #ootds (I attended the fashion week from Day 2).

Day 2 AIFW SS’16

The camera comes with adjustable settings such that you can adjust auto-focus, exposure and more while clicking pictures.

I have used pictures from my Instagram so you guys know that these are not edited pictures but used as such with bit of

For its pricing, (INR 29,999 for 16 GB and INR 32,999 for 32 GB), Moto X Style does a good job. Android users can surely keep this as an option when planning to buy a smartphone around this price range. Camera looks good, audio and video quality is nice, design is pretty chic and performance doesn’t disappoint either. I would give it around 7.5/10.

You can get your hands on Moto X Style here.

Much Love,
