DIY Ripped Jeans
Here’s a quick DIY post on how to get a perfect pair of DIY ripped jeans all by yourself !
Here are couple of shots I took while I ripped mine (for the first time..yeah ! So I guess you guys too can try it out, though I’d suggest to try it on a pair of jeans you don’t mind ruining !) :
Step 1: Mark with a chalk or pencil (I used my NYX eye-pencil, because that’s how I roll :P), wherever you want to make cuts to rip them further.
Step 2: Make a straight cut with your scissors (if you aren’t too confident doing that without cutting the other side, place a cardboard or newspaper layers in between.)
Step 3: Make another parallel cut above/below it.
Step 4: Start pulling out the thread (white ones seen horizontally) in between those two cuts, you can use tweezers for the same for more precision.
Step 5: Keep pulling the white threads till you can’t further and then start pulling out the blue (vertical ones).
Step 6: Keep pulling the blue and white threads alternatively.
Step 7: Keep doing this till you get the size want, though it depends on the length of the first incision you made. Did I just use the word incision ? Blame the medico in me for that !
Step 8: You can tie few loose threads into neat small knots to get the final look.
(Material Required: Jeans (of course!), Scissors, Tweezers (optional), Chalk)
And that’s how it’s done !
Quick tips on how to style ripped jeans:
Casual Wear: With cute tees & sneakers or ganjis & slip-ons/flat gladiators.
Party Wear: Dressy blouses/tops, statement neck-piece, even blazers and some nice heels.
In case you ruin your jeans while doing this, cut them into shorts, after all, cute denim shorts kill no one during summers 😀 !!
