Your Workwear Guide
So here’s the first post of the year 2014, and a very Happy & Prosperous New Year to everyone !!!
Today’s post is about Formal Wear/ Office Wear/ Workwear or however you call it. Dressing on weekends, when out chilling with friends is one thing, but when it comes to the work attire, ohh boy, that could be a tough one !
There are so many rules to follow such as mentioned below to name a few:
~ Strictly no denims.
~ No bright colours or loud make up.
~ Minimal accessories.
~ Picking the right fabric, cut and make.
I too work in Corporate Sector and hence understand the pain of ‘getting the work-wear right’. This post is an effort to help us all through those weekdays that make us our living. I have come up with seven outfit ideas, I hope you’d like them. Also, these don’t include the ‘Casual/ Friday Dressing’ outfit ideas as I thought it was still easier to survive Fridays, yet if you feel that it’s needed, then drop me a mail/comment and I’ll be up with it 🙂
And here are the pics:
(White peplum by Koovs, Belt by Forever New, Skirt by Forever 21)
(Shirt from Lifestyle Store, Pants from Promod, Bag & Heels from Zara)
( Shirt from Max, Androgynous Pants & Belt from Zara, Bag from Coach)
(Ruffle shirt from Wills Lifestyle, Peplum Skirt from Koovs, Black Pumps from Zara)
(Monochrome dress from Topshop, Belt from Forever 21, Bag from Mango, Heels from Marie Claire)
(Top from Lifestyle Store, Pants from Forever 21, Bag from BCBG)
(Sheer Blouse by French Connection, Skirt by Koovs, Belt by Vero Moda Pieces, Heels from a store in Chandigarh)
On my face: MAC primer & foundation, MAC Riri Holiday Love Rihanna Blush, Chambor Dazzle Kohl, Maybelline Colossal Mascara, Lipsticks- Givency Velvet Purple, MAC RiriFall Nude, MAC Speak Louder, MAC Viva Glam 1 and Maybelline Perpetual Peony.
As you can see I kept the makeup minimal & toned down, a bright lipstick can be worn when the outfit isn’t that coloured or bright itself.
Plus, do check out what the women in the TV show ‘Suits’ wear, you can get loads of ideas, my personal favourite being the character ‘Rachel’ 🙂
Brands I like for Formal Wear: Zara, Mango & Promod for trousers mostly, Marks & Spencer, Van Huesen, Wills for shirts, Scullers too has nice shirts, Allen Solly, Koovs has nice work-friendly skirts & at times you can get formal stuff at Forever New & Forever 21 too !
Also, I would highly recommend to get really nice watch/ watches, since the idea is minimal accessories at work, watches can be our savior to keep the style quotient high and make a statement too. For Jewelry, I’d say refrain from anything big or chunky, studs for ears, thin chain or a strand of pearls around the neck & maybe a bracelet should be enough.
This is all for now, have a nice day and happy Formal-Dressing !
Much Love 🙂
